The Peira Nanosizer is a flexible, high-throughput nanonization platform designed for milling small quantities of materials into nanoparticles. It can grind quantities as small as 0.25 grams to sizes less than 0.5 microns, and even down to about 0.05 microns in terms of average diameter. This tool is particularly useful in fields like pharmaceuticals, where precise particle size reduction is crucial for drug formulation and delivery.
Features
The Peira NanoSizer consists of 10 individual small scale media mills assembled in one platform operating in parallel. Individually driven micro motors agitate a rotor in commercially available glass vials filled with the dispersion containing attrition milling media and the product to be milled. Milling speeds and duration time can be set per individual vial in order to search for the optimal process. A specific designed sealing ring on the shaft of the rotor assures no leakage or loss of material whilst not creating contamination of the dispersion. Special attention has been given to the mechanical design of rotors, shaft and holders in order to allow easy maintenance and cleaning of the apparatus. This platform enhances the performance of the research lab significantly.
Why Peira NanoSizer?
The Peira Nanosizer offers several benefits, particularly for applications requiring precise particle size reduction. Here are some key advantages:
- High Precision: It can reduce particle sizes to less than 0.5 microns, and even down to about 0.05 microns, ensuring high precision in nanoparticle production.
- Small Batch Processing: It is capable of processing very small quantities, as little as 0.25 grams, making it ideal for research and development settings where material availability may be limited.
- Versatility: The Nanosizer can handle a wide range of materials, making it suitable for various industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and materials science.
- Efficiency: The high-pressure milling process is efficient, producing consistent and uniform nanoparticles quickly.
- Improved Drug Delivery: In pharmaceuticals, smaller particle sizes can enhance the bioavailability and efficacy of drugs, leading to better therapeutic outcomes.
