Peira HistoSAFE 700 removes autofluorescence and, as such, facilitates the acquisition of high quality fluorescence images and improves subsequent analysis in multiplex assays.

Autofluorescence is the natural emission of light by biological structures when they absorb light. This phenomenon occurs due to the presence of certain endogenous molecules within cells and tissues that can fluoresce. Common autofluorescent molecules include NAD(P)H, flavins, collagen, and elastin. In fluorescence imaging, autofluorescence can be problematic when it interferes with the detection of specific fluorescent signals, especially when these signals are weak.
